Douglas Young, co-founder of G.O.D. – Goods of Desire, has positioned himself at the forefront of Hong Kong cultural branding. As a designer, he endeavours to break cultural taboos not out of disrespect, but out of sheer love for his homeland and a desire to see it make its mark. “Asia is enjoying a renaissance, so this is a very interesting time and place. I think we should feel very lucky to be Hong Kong people in this day and age. And I think my work is also about harnessing those energies, those possibilities, and hopefully creating history – that is my ambition.”
