From a very young age, Lydia Lavín knew that fashion and textiles would have a huge impact on her life. At 16, she launched her first fashion collection. Soon, anthropologist Marta Turok opened her eyes to the ancestral world, and from that moment onwards Lydia forged a unique relationship with traditional Mexican craftswomen that continues to this day. Setting up a course in textile design, she has been teaching it for more than four decades.
