Inspired by her love for Lebanon and her love for sports, May El-Khalil decided to turn a near-fatal accident into a motivator to change the lives of thousands of people around the country—and the world. Founding the Beirut Marathon Association in 2003, she is spreading a message of unity and hope through sport. “If you turn a problem into an opportunity, you can start to affect change,” she says.
