Saleh Al Jabri has received numerous decorations for his service as an officer in the Royal Navy. But the highest honour he has ever received was the opportunity to follow the historic silk route as Captain of the Jewel of Muscat. “It was a way to pay tribute to the great Omani navigators of the past and educate our people about our history,” Al Jabri says. “I urge the youth of today to preserve our maritime heritage and keep alive our culture, by learning to sail and promoting the beauty of our wonderful country.”
