“Our mission is to make a difference, to improve services in special needs education in private schools in Kuwait,” says Amaal Ahmed Al Sayer, founder of KALD. Experiencing firsthand the lack of support in the field after her son was diagnosed with ADHD, Amaal set out to transform the landscape in the country through establishing KALD. “We call them learning differences, not difficulties, because these students are very smart. You can see amazing results when you give these kids the accommodation and support they need,” she explains, happy to be affecting tangible change. “I am so lucky and privileged that I have the chance, through KALD, to give back to Kuwait.”
