Infected by polio, Marhoon Al Ghafri’s life was permanently altered at a young age. But disability never prevented Marhoon from chasing his dreams. His involvement in the Oman Disabled Divers Association’s (ODDA) Oman Diving Challenge project helped him to rediscover his own boundless capacities as an athlete and a human being. Today, Marhoon is a professional scuba diver and an activist, fighting to improve the

lives of people with special needs. “A disability is not an obstacle that can stop you from continuing your life,” he says. “Accept your condition and carry on your life as the normal person that you are.”
