Cancer changed Yuthar Al Rawahy’s life forever. But her battle with the disease also presented her with the opportunity to take action on a national level. Like many humanitarian leaders that have inspired her—including Gandhi and Mother Theresa—Yuthar believes that helping fellow citizens is a person’s highest calling. “My inspiration and motivation comes from being able to make people smile,” she says. “Being able to comfort patients when they first receive their diagnosis, that is the most important thing for me.”
