A designer by profession, Rebecca Lee left behind a lucrative career to explore our planet’s extremes and do her bit to raise awareness about environmental issues and climate change. With particular focus on the Poles, she uses her artistic skills to make science accessible to the general public. She has also been devoting increasing amounts of her time to education, employing multimedia to inspire young people. “I want to pass on my knowledge, what I’ve learned,” she explains. “That’s why I go to schools and talk about my experience. Everyone can do it, not just me. You can be the explorer.”
