When Eugenia Tachie-Menson first saw the Scripps Spelling Bee, she thought African children should be in it as well. She navigated a tough road to make this a reality for Ghana. The resulting programme has impacted thousands of children in the country, teaching invaluable skills on which they can build – skills not for the future, but for today. “It’s a mistake to think the youth are our future. They’re here, right now. We must include them.”
