Before returning to Morocco, Mahi Binebine spent 23 creativity-filled years abroad. As a math teacher in Paris, he was inspired to write by his mentor, a Spanish author in exile. He later added painting and sculpture to his arsenal, crossing the Atlantic to find success as an artist. Published in 2009, his iconic novel Horses of God is a human look into the Sidi Moumen bombings, characteristic of the deep compassion he also exhibits in his volunteer work.
