She may have been functionally illiterate, but Mostapha’s mother made sure that her children’s rooms were filled with books. He went on to study and research the natural sciences in France, the US and then Quebec. But, in the face of a changing world, Morocco had to summon back its most talented expats. Now back home, Professor Mostapha Bousmina is Chancellor of the Hassan II Academy of Science and President of the Euromed University of Fes.
