The humbleness and simplicity of her ways do not lend themselves to deception once Natividad Jaén speaks; the brightness of her eyes and her torrent of ideas betray a great doer. With a hand that’s firm but gentle, she has instilled pride for their own Dule culture into the children of the Mother Language project, and brought hope back to the inmates of the women’s prison in Panama. She processes the emotions of her day by painting watermelons.
