After contracting Ebola during the epidemic that ravaged West Africa, Dr Oury Mamadou Diallo was ostracised due to the superstitions and misconceptions around the still poorly understood virus. But he
refused to let it be that way. He had to do something. Now president of the National Network of Ebola Survivors’ Associations in Guinea and founder of NGO Hamayad, he’s raising awareness, informing the public, and advocating for access to care.
