Following her studies abroad, valuable business experience gained at several blue-chip multinational companies and a short career break to focus on family, Su-Mei Thompson made a bold move into the NGO sector. She ended up running The Women’s Foundation and has been recognised as one of Hong Kong’s foremost non-profit leaders. “I would like to see a revolution in the NGO space. Right now, there is too much competition for donor dollars and not enough collaboration, which reinforces the fragmentation of research and programme design and impacts the help NGOs can provide to under-served communities.”
