A wheelchair user as a result of childhood polio, Foo Yuen-wai never let his disability prevent him from pursuing excellence. Not one to shy away from a challenge and determined to always push himself to do better, he has competed on an international level in wheelchair fencing and para-shooting, most recently representing Hong Kong in sailing. His ultimate goal is to compete in the Paralympics. “You have to be resilient,” he says. “You have to keep your success in mind and stick to your course. There’s always a way, even when you’re in a wheelchair.”
