Known far and wide as the ‘Queen of Charity’, Alice Chiu has dedicated much of her adult life to improving the lives of the underprivileged and needy, focusing primarily on education and healthcare for vulnerable children and the elderly. One of the most prolific fundraisers of our time, she has raised more than two billion HKD over almost four decades. In 1994, she founded the Sheen Hok Charitable Foundation, which has since helped over three hundred organisations in Hong Kong and mainland China provide much needed healthcare and education to society’s most vulnerable, and is active in supporting local education development.
