Born into an artistic family, Cheick Omar always dreamt of being on stage, even as
a child. “Go for it”, his mother encouraged him; “find something else to do”, his father
admonished. At the age of 19, Cheick Omar formed the Money Makerz, Guinea’s first
R&B group, while continuing his studies, which eventually took him to the USA.
After ten years working as a chef there, he returned to Guinea in 2011 to devote himself to his true calling: music.
