Born in 1986 in Télémélé, Djénabou Diallo Sylla initially grew up with her father in Niger, then her mother in Guinea. After earning a master’s degree in Dakar, she specialised in business law and worked at a legal and tax consultancy fi rm and then at MAMRI. It was losing her twins due to the lack of adequate care during childbirth that led her down the path to founding the NGO “Mon Enfant, Ma vie” to fight obstetrical negligence in Guinea.
