A Hongkonger through and through, with thirty years and a string of senior positions in the civil service, a successful career in the private sector and an impressive track record in the third, John Chan has helped shape Hong Kong into the prosperous and welcoming place it is today – from his involvement in the Joint Declaration to his initiative to introduce wheelchair-accessible buses and his subsequent varied work through charitable organisations. “Hong Kong is my home,” he says. “It means everything to me. I’ve spent my whole life working for HK in one way or another.”
