Born in 1988 in Conakry, Mariama Bah grew up in a polygamous family with 14 children. Following her Baccalaureate 1 and 2, she studied biology and chemistry at the ISSEG, and then specialized in HR. After
a spell at Orange Guinea and in a call centre, she became an assistant in a business incubator. When her dream of moving to Canada didn’t materialise, she decided to start her own company at home: YaaLan,
an electronic device repair business.
