Aïssata Beavogui was just six years old when she moved from Guinea to Senegal. Then, at 18, she flew to the USA where she trained as an accountant, embarked on a promising career and started a family.
But she could no longer resist the call of her homeland. At age 37, she returned to a country she barely knew: Guinea. Equipped with skills and diligence, Aïssata started afresh, becoming the first woman to run
a mining company in Guinea.
