IN SHORT
Fatoumata Binta Barry contracted poliomyelitis at the tender age of two. She has been partially paralysed since. Then, a turning point: Her path led her to the Guinea Solidarity organization, giving her a new lease of life through training in sewing and other support. Now the loving mother of a little girl, Fatoumata runs her own atelier with the support of the disability-focused Wakilare Association, whose shop in Conakry she also manages.
